I see you trans lid does not have the two cast lugs on the left side.
Just to let you know the the Aust. carriers have a bracket with a 90 degree bend at the bottom, that picks up on two of the bolts that hold the lid on.
I can post a picture if you like. Saves you finding the carrier g/box lid.

Hi Lynn,

I know. My Carrier is a running example. There is a fabricated support that goes under a couple of the lid bolts on the correct side. It is not on there in the picture. We had the engine and gearbox out for some major repairs when I took the picture.

This picture will show how it is fitted but not very clear.

One member allready asked for more detailed pictures as he also has to fabricate these parts. If Shaun does not mind I will put them in his thread next weekend. Shaun?

Cheers,

For the other guys here is a picture of it. The small item is the sprung loaded reverse detent (they dont have a gate or a lock out) for the riveted carrier the top would be cut off leaving only two bolt holes.

things are moving steadly on, the new springs arrived yesterday but the inner ones were wrong so after a phone call this morning they are now making some more the correct size. I have over hauled all the wheels, bearing and seals etc so now the first wheels are going back on.

I have had the engine apart, fitted a new inlet valve and guide. It has had a very good wash and inspection, and im glad to say there is no wear in the engine. it has been painted in British army rebuild blue/green (BS 101).

The gearbox is aslo like new ( Richie was a bit envious when he looked inside it the other day) so just need to fit the carrier adaptor parts to the box and its ready to fit.

So hopefully this time next week it will be sitting on its wheels and the engine and gearbox in. Lets see if work gets in the way !!

Lynn, I had a fan extention but some one had robbed the pulley from it in the distant past. I borrowed a pattern from Kevin and turned one up. I turnned the rubber drive insert out of a nylon bush.
