Default Gmc

When I was there in 1976 he had a nice original open cab GMC CCKW he had bought from the Tumut electricity board . He was planning on shortening it to work in the bush to collect mine props . That truck might be the one I spotted all those years ago.

I always wondered what the props were used for ??

The Dodge is nearing completion and has passed a rego check so it will be on the road in November.

Kevin has been buying again, for spares this time, a Reo chassis cut brhind fuel tank and a Studi full chasis. Plenty of moss and rust but some useful parts to be salvaged.

Kevin also bought a running inter, ex fire bregade, in fairly good order. Unfortunatly the slat seat on the right side has been cut short for access to the hose real.

I'd love to see these two Dodge's together after 70 years !. After 15 years sitting on axle stands, my WC 51 which I have owned for over 35 years, has had a make over/ respray, new canvas and this was her first outing to a local show last weekend, where, I 'd forgotten just how much fun she is to drive.
Regards
Keith

Default Keith

I hope I dont start another world war or get pelted to death slowly with small stones, (especially on this Canadian forum) but the truth is they were the best of their time to drive.
This is just my humble opinion, but they were more driver friendly than any British or CMP truck. The USA was at the peak of it's game when these were built.

Now, ...................somewhere to hide??

Can I press the submit button with a long stick, from my hidy hole?

BTW very nice Robert and Keith!
