Marshall (and others),
The fun starts to form up in the late morning near the little park at the corner of Dorinda Street and Dorinda Avenue - both a block or three northeast of the Fair grounds. There is lots of parking at the big factories in the area - but the bestest ones are taken by early birds! By 10:30 there will be marching bands, WW1 troops, all manner of military vehicles and all manner of stuff - all being marshaled into a well choreographed spectacular parade. Expect many flags, drums, and that sort of thing - all in seasonably cool weather - perfect for parading in an old truck. The guy with gas money will seek you out to thank you for coming out. It all gets underway just before noon - but could leave as early as 11:30 (they don't tell me everything). Stewart Last edited by Stewart Loy; 05-09-11 at 20:47. Reason: free parking added |
