I just had a look and the back has been chopped and modified and I don't believe the 6890 number is correct.
Colin.

Would be easy to put right Colin. Sounds like it has plenty of nice gear with it. Great wheels. Pity it has no pics of the cabin.

Default E Bay Carrier

Hi Guys, the carrier on E Bay was one that I owned in 1967, I sold it off a few years later to a guy in Victoria for the same price that I had paid for it, after all thats all that they were worth in those days he later sold it to a Museum in N S W, and it was bought from there by the present owner two or three years ago, when I bought it straight from the sales in Victoria it cost me the huge sum of $330, it was all original and had 116 miles on the clock, I have seen it some time ago its an easy restoration, and I doubt it has done over 300 miles in its life. its correct number is 3798, regards Ron
By the way I have no connection with the present owner

Default Carrier 3798

Just a little update on my old carrier, just checked my records the millage was 110 miles, yes the sale price was $330, it went from me to a guy in Vic who sold it to the Dubbo museum,if you check the posts on the Forum you will see pics of it, it was then sold at the dubbo museum and ended up in Toowooba Qld, hope this little bit helps Regards Ron

She is a ripper Ron and thanks for the extra info. I bet you regret selling her now.
It will be interesting to see what she will fetch now. Still having the original low miles engine is a huge bonus.

AUSTRALIAN LP2A BREN GUN CARRIER
Starting bid: AU $15,000.00
Seller info: Member id 41cmp

Up for auction now is my LP2A Bren Gun Carrier. This Bren drives and turns like a dream. Mechanically it is A1, just needs a clean up and paint. If it doesnt sell as is, it will be sandblasted and painted and re-offered for sale and a higher price. There is not alot to do to this carrier to finish it. At some point most of the small brackets and fittings were cut off, but nothing major was removed. An inspection is recommended for this carrier as there is a ute load of extra parts for it which may go with it, depending on the final price. If it reaches the reserve price there will be a full set of storage boxes, (another spare set also avaiable for sale) Shepards hook, Crow Bar, Pick, Axe, Shovel, original stove in storage box, Jack and mounting bracket, Track adjusting winch, Lights, Dash, Bren Gun quadrant, Bren ammo boxes, Vickers ammo boxes, Lewis ammo boxes, POW tins, Vickers Tool box, Machine Gun Cleaning rods, three of the four lower engine cover plates(super rare!) Air cleaners and air tubes, Spare gear box with Muff coupling and horse shoe. There will be more but thats all I can think of and thats why this vehicle must be inspected or at least a very serious phone call. As I said earlier, this vehicle will be an easy rebuild and it currently runs extremely well. It has been a front row performer at the last three Emu Gully Air and Land Spectaculars in Queensland. I can be contacted on 0418 779 848 for more info or an inspection. Serious buyers only please. www.southerncrossmilitaria.com
It appears that the rear panel has been cut and moved back to enlarge the rear compartment. Sounds like there is a lot of other items to go with it depending on the price. not too bad a project, and no I am not conected to the seller.

Default Vic Rail 3798

Hi Anthony,
Yes I agree with you regarding the motor, another big plus is and an important one cost wise is the condition of the track with such low milage it should be almost as new,and the rubber on the wheels should be good also, when I owned it it lived in a shed high and dry, it went like a cut cat when I opened it up on the farm, and on a wet day I could spin it like a top on the wet grass,No there are no regrets about selling it,I had other projects to get on with, Diamond T 980,rogers trailer and Matilda tanks to play with, Yes that Dingo is nice I have seen it, and its great condition, Regards Ron

Great to see you take the time to add some background to many Carriers which pass along on this forum.

Thanks!

Hello Hanno,
Thank you for your comment, I agree with you our hobby is. and should be all about sharing our information the bits of information that we all have should be shared in this way we can help all of our new members to enjoy their hobby and maybe in this way we can help them with their restoration projects, I can see no reason in people keeping information to their selves, we all should remember when we started down this restoration path how little we knew, and how glad we were to find out the little tricks on how to do things, and the reason why? thanks again Hanno, the Forum is in good hands and keeping Geofs legacy going the way he would have liked to see it
