Default Some info

From DND papers I extracted this info:

Quote:
[In October 1937] Lieut. Jolley then drew up a list of all 15 cwt. trucks or equivalent that were to be replaced by new trucks, traded-in, retained for schools or for instructional purposes. The oldest was a 1928 Model Durant Coach. There was a 1929 Chevrolet LQ stake truck, a 1934 Chevrolet Light Delivery, two Chevrolet pickups and a 1½ ton stake truck, all 1934 Models*. There were eight Crossley Staff Cars to be sent to schools, otherwise all others were Fords: 1931 to 1936 Models, 2-Ton stake trucks, Station Wagons or Phaetons. Ten 1936 Ford 2-Ton trucks were to be retained, to be supplemented by the new 15 cwt. Trucks. .It was estimated that 36 new G.M. and 36 Ford trucks were required: to be added to 95 vehicles in “Establishment H.Q.”, and 23 existing serviceable vehicles, spread across Canada from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Halifax, New Brunswick, London, Ontario to St. Jean, Quebec. That was the sum total of D.N.D. vehicles....

...The Permanent Force requirements were revised, and a total of 51 new production trucks were called for... The revised list of required existing vehicles called for one 1930 Crossley car to be retained, as well as 1934 to 1936 Model Ford Phaeton and Station Wagons and Trucks: all other Fords, the Durant, Crossleys, and all Chevrolets were to be traded or used a spare parts. The new orders were to be for 25 Ford and 26 G.M. of Canada new 15-cwt. Trucks, to which were added the 28 existing vehicles.
