OK here goes...
The metal pieces go between the back frame where the spring reinforcement goes for the recoilless rifle (The big coil springs).
The cover is a winter rad cover for the M38A1. Simundson.

what is it
Hi do you still have that grill cover?? its actually to a M-38, the M-38A1s were larger and the glass covered both the headlights and marker lights.
I do have a grill cover for a M38A1 but I need one for a M-38 as thats what I have not a A1 KB

And here I was thinking that the metal was for winching...run the cable between the ends and over the metal rod so as not to dig into the dirt etc...
just a thought...
