If the bead area shows any signs of rusting then yes it is a good idea.
90% of slow leaks in tubless tires are from rust forming in the bead area between the tire and rim.
If there is no rust or rust bubbles then just repaint it.

I had one Michelin XCL on My Iltis that was so old it was not a tubless type tire. The other 3 XCL's were tubeless tires.
