Jon is correct, as/at May 1942 - AoS 53 in white on red background for Machine Gun Battalions, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Canadian Divisions. Also, as/at April1940 - MG Battalions were Corps assets and used either 34, 35 or 36 in white on a red background, this was changed to 45, 46 or 47 in white on a red background as/at 28 May 1940. As of 12 December 1940, the Arm of Service marking of 53 in white on red background for the Machine Gun Battalion in Infantry Divisions was adopted.

Any light on the acronym TOFOR..I have seen it on some vehicles..maybe Bosnia but can't remember..(Pinky and I think it has something to do with a 24 of beer ..)and another thing..are you going to make it up to Bob's BBQ in June..??

Funny how things work out..here I was asking about the badges on the fenders of Trucks and Tanks..and yesterday I found a few original decals for the Vehs!!..bigger than I thought..all have the Maple leaf in the center
