Default remains

Richard I have the remains of what I always imagined to be the floorboard but looking at the pics makes me think it might be the battery cover afterall. It is made of what looks like hardwood (survived 60=years out in the weather) and is held together with brass screws. I always thought it was where the rifle butt holders mounted. My memory is a bit vague but I think it was still attached to this board when I dug it up.

While on the subject of battery boxes, I also have the cross brace over the battery for my Mk1. It is 'T' shaped in section rather than angle iron. I was also lucky enough to pick up a couple of Ford script battery cases which fit as well. Hope to have one restored fo show when the restoration is complete.

Cheers

Phill
