Thanks to Bruce as well.
I have two of the antenna pegs and also just found out what they are for - it pays to never throw anything away! One has the remains of black paint on it with bare metal underneath and the second one has the remains of a glossy dark green with remnants of black under that. No idea when they were manufactured but black looks to be the base colour.
