Jeez! And I was expecting something interesting!

I read a story about a Valentine DD tank that was rebuilt, and the owner found all the parts had been assembled one by one, and fitted "looking like that was the right place to put the screw". Good luck with your new found headaches!

G'day Matt,

Haven't met you yet but you're reputation preceeds you through Max Hedges who is a good friend of mine.

Looks like a hell of a lot of fun and rare bit of history you're playing with.

They are a superb looking tank & it is fantastic to see what you're up to.

Thank you for posting these pics. I'll be checking this thread everyday for updates.

For what its worth - sing out if you need a hand.

Wishing you a smooth rebuild

Ganmain Tony

Hi Lads

Thanks for the comments, Its our third matilda rebuild and our 4th removal so we know whats involved. 12 hours from backing it into the workshop complete to fully stripped, I would consider that ok by anyones standards. we have another pack ready however its going to the Uk to assist with a restoration so although the temptation is high just to swap packs we will rebuild the original E164 E165 pack. Also doing the gerbox and Rackhams as well..

Visitors welcome, Tony, Next time your around my way drop in for a play.

Kind regards
Matt

Matt, Tony is very handy with the spanner, the only problem you may have is the supply of food to keep him going.

One night we left here before tea to organise hay making for that night, as it turned out we thought we had better get on with the job, the look on tonys face when he realised he was going without tea was worth a mint (he just stood there looking at me what about tea?). Then we had to lead him on kidding that we were going half way to the coast that night to bale hay, that kept him enthused to keep him going he got a cup of coffee and a piece of cake upon arrival. Mind you he always made sure he was fed before leaving there after.

After being at your place we can see Tony would be amply fed.

Max
