Phil,
These are terms for post-war Canadian vehicles. SMP is Standard Military Pattern and was used primarily with the M-series (CDN) such as the 1/4 ton, 3/4 ton and 2 1/2 ton. The ECC is the Equipment Configuration Cde and basically identifies the body. In the photo below is the 121301 ECC for the 106 Recoilless Rifle body mounted on the M38A1.
