I think of The M38A1C as the recoilless rifle variant, but don't have any idea whether the CFR range fits. What ase the odds of field conversions or mixed production runs?

Hi Gilles it is great to hear that someone will have an M816,I had ten of them in my section in Calgary,they were thousands of times better than the old gassers.I will include you in my list of contacts for parts,thanks for the information.Cheers.Gerry.

Hmmm...M816, eh? I had the pleasurable fun to drive an M818 (tractor only) about 6 months ago.
A local guy bought one in Texas and DROVE it back to Ontario!

Hi Grant,I found out the M38A1C designation from the M31A1 site,my serial# I found in the list of recoiless rifle jeeps on MLU forum,also I have ammo racks on the rear floor.All I know for certain is the Patent Plate# so I hope that I'm not out to lunch on the CFR.Cheers.Gerry
