CMP saved from junk yard
These are the pictures of the CMP Chev we saved from the scrap metal dealer. The vehicle is for sale. The truck has a blown engine, a hole in the cylinder and the head appears to have taken a walk. Overall the vehicles seems to be restorable. I am not a CMP expert and know nothing about restoring the vehicle.
One thing that I saw was the platform on the back, the frame of the box matches the truck frame. I think the bottom of the box might be original and the sides were added. The truck has a PTO and it is hooked to a hydraulic cylinder that lifts the box. Make me an offer. Gilles

CMP rescue
You need to go to the Hammond Barn for a drink of their "special" Koolade. That will turn you into a CMP restorer in no time.
(For the record I have met the Hammond Barn crew socially, but have been careful to not visit. My wife would surely notice the difference in my behaviour right away.) Good find BTW, and the future thanks you for respecting the past.

That might be a modified HUP, it looks like the axles are fitted with six stud wheels and either the cab back has suffered during its working life or it was fabricated to replace the rear of the HUP body, my vote is choice #2.

Gauges
What is also interesting is ow the gauges are in the center and not above the steering wheel, congrats on saving another piece of history.

Gary, the complete dash panel has been relocated to the centre. Look at the tapered angle to the top of the panel. Why?? don't know.
I rekon it could be a HUP as well. Glad it didn't go to the scrapper. Regards Rick.

Gilles,
Nice find. Thanks for doing the rescue.  Could the Hammond Barn be its next stop ? The left rear wheel looks interesting - it is certainly not a regular HUP wheel. Do you have any closer photos of it ? Brian

What an interesting bit of kit......

Wow the mods on that one are facinating..... Coil springs rear suspension.... Rims look like HUP 6 bolt small 16 inch rims welded to larger 20 inch rims.... Running board a typical cab 13..... back of cab is fabricated.... leaning on HUP body being cut.... Rear frame has curve over rear axle like a HUP Engine side cover is in cab possibly indicating a 216 is still on board albeit seized.... Inner winshield frames have been replaced....door hinges are fabrications...no wipers..... One rear rims looks commercial..... would be nice to see if it was a "natural" fit for future reference.... Finally Gilles included my favorite icons next to his statement about visitng the barn...... beer!!!! Gilles will call to plan a visit....both ways. Boob
