I think the car used the same basic engine that was used in the TEA-20 tractors built for Ferguson by Standard in the Coventry factory. So 85 mph would be a brisk speed for that lump.
Can't imagine the occupants of that car fared too well.

Hi guys,i had one of those vanguards cut down into a pickup/ute,and it would do 80 mph
once you wound it up,with 3 people in the cab and a couple of british motorcycles on the back.(from kenneys believe it or not file)

G'day All, After filing a 'Lost n Damaged' on that stock item, I would venture to say some deceased as well, good pix though Rick thanks for posting cheers Dennis
![]() ps the pix remind me of the 1st car crash fatality that I saw, from memory it was a Morris Marshall, the front of the car was about 2 foot long, the engine was etc was all over the drivers seat, I have never forgotten that incident, red stuff everywhere and a funny smell ![]() |
