Yep, I've done a track or two, 15 years in the Canadian Amoured corps, and my body can attest to it. The problem now, correct me if I'm wrong, is importing the armoured vehicles.
I think the simplest vehicle to own is the ferret. Under 3900 kg, no special driver's permit required. Parts are available (except tires), runs fairly cheaply on fuel, and fits in the garage. What about a Pig? Saxon?

How's your old ferret doing anyhow? I finished the Land Rover 90 project, I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.
