Mike Calnan at Swords and Ploughshares has a running C8, Jason Ginn near Ottawa has another F8 - must be running or near running now- and the war museum in Ottawa has at least one though not sure if its runnable any more. So that's four at least in E. Ontario.
Anyone doing the math to add 'em up?
Hi,

My F8 is an 11 cab Ford GS truck that was issued to the 2nd Battalion Dufferin & Haldimand Rifles in Southern Ontario. The truck was not sent to the praries for farm use like many 8cwts but was used by a construction company after the war. Marc Montgomery owned the truck at one time and later sold it to Don Dingwall. I Purchased the truck from Don as a partially restored project and have recently finished the restoration of the cab and chassis. I haven't put it in the road yet as i am still working on finding a 1B2 body and inner tubes for the tires but it is otherwise ready to go. I have located 1941 period cinefilm footage of the truck while it was in service with the D&H Rifles so I am really exited to finish the project!

A few folks on the forum have asked for updated pics so i have attached a few.

Default Talk about progress....

In case anyone wants to see what a little effort can do, look at the above post of Jason's Ford. Nice work, yes?

Now check this pic out from 2001, the day after I got it home from Montreal. it looked pretty much the same when I sold it to J a couple years later. The cab was really rough. He and his dad Roy have worked wonders since.

Cheers
Don

Thanks Don! It has been alot of fun to work on the truck over the past few years, and it has really allowed me and dad to add a focus to our arguments on how to best perform any given task that we choose to undertake whilst in each others company!
