Default Load for Winnipeg

The pic title refers 1952 load for Winnipeg. It's possible these trucks are part of a number that were refurbished by MacDonald Bros. Aircraft for the army around that time. The trucks were then stored at former CATP satellite base at, coincidentally, MacDonald, northwest of Portage la Prairie.

MacDonald Bros. later became Bristol Aerospace, where I worked in the '80s. A small picture of the trucks lined up on the road outside the plant and a brief reference to them appeared in the company's 50th anniversary book. I planned to do a little research on the project, talked to the former prez, a neighbour, to see what he recalled, and phoned the Bristol folks to find out who was currently reponsible for the historic archives, but I haven't followed up since.

The trucks were presumably disposed of by Crown Assets from MacDonald.
