Default bright bits

Hi Colin, By the look of all that polishing is seems your intention is a "salute" gun? Good to see another 25 being rebuilt.

We have several welded trail versions over here in W.A. (they handle the gravel roads better) one restored by the RAAHS is in King's Park at the Tobrouk Memorial, another at 7 Fd Bty. Both these types have the muzzel brake/counterweight configs of the 1960's (stamped on the underside of the business end.)

Hope you retain the foot firing gear, unique to Australian Models. Many experts believe the foot firing system was introduced to aid in maintaining a positve sight on moving targets but it fact it was developed so you could fire while holding your beer.

Tyres, Bob has right answer. I use 1mm cutting disks in the angle grinder, job takes half an hour and 6 disks a tyre.
On finding suitable tyres, no one makes 8.25 16 in a military tread anymore.
MRF 900x16's will fall onto the rim, any other brand needs a massive press or a sharp knife.
Wayne.

Hi Bob/Wayne, it is in pretty good nick and completish. There was the usual gas cuts which I have welded up. The breech block had some severe cuts and so did the breech as well but it will be fine. This is a nice quick project to do.
