I think it's a Bogong moth .. they come around each year and bang on the windows at night . The local indigenous people used to feast on them . Fancy a snack

Their ghastly compound eyes glow red in the light... imagine being alone in a farm house somewhere in Gippsland, hearing something unusual in the next room you go in and see a herd of these monsters trying to get into the room!
