It is amazing how the experts come out... I had my F15 parked at the local Historical Society open day after Corowa, and was approached by an expert who enlightened me with some amazing facts! 1. Any truck with a cab like mine (#12) was made by Ford, and all the others (cab #13) were Chevs! 1.1 Any 12 cab with a Chev has had the engine retro-fitted! Therefore, the same applies to Ford-powered 13 cabs! (Gee a lot of people went to a lot of trouble, didn't they) 1.2 The Chev is a far superior vehicle owing to its bigger cabin (of course). 2. My F15 has been converted from 4wd, as they never, ever, made 2wd blitz's! 3. The "Ford" (cab 12) was produced during the war years, whereas the "Chev" (cab 13) continued well after. I tried to help him with some factual information, but, being an expert, he knew his stuff! ![]() HH

Wow, I really need to interview him for the next DVD's comedy segment.
![]() I've encountered people like that before, but not for many years. Pure gold. Quote:

Met an expert last week and a local "show and shine".....he said he was in Europe when NATO started painting the vehicles with a camo paint scheme. He said it was the first time Canada ever had vehicles with camo

The blitz and I will be working partners for quite a while yet. This is what you get when you miss a years spraying due to a grasshoper plague eating all the leaves off the blackberries leaving nothing to take up the spray.

Drove the Blitz to the Batlow show yesterday and had a nice relaxing day sitting in the shade talking to people I only meet once or twice a year

![]() All Blitzes were made in England, otherwise why would they be right hand drive? All Blitzes were originally Ford V8 powered and the V8s were also made in England They were all capable of 80 mph. He also insisted that the SAS used Austin Champs in the Western Desert in 1942 because they were more reliable than Jeeps. ![]() I didn't try too hard to tell him the truth. ![]()

The tail of the conversation went something like this... Me: Yes I have a couple of Blitzes that I intend to restore. Xp: Oh, yeah, Willies, eh? Me: Ah, No, Blitz Trucks. Ex: Yeah, Yeah, WIllies! Me: Ah, no, I have Fords, but Chev also made them. Xp: Yeah, yeah... Willies! They were a willies design! Ford & Chev made them for Willies! Me: Well, actually, the design was first penned by a bloke called Sid Swallow who worked for ford... and... yeah,,, then Willies. Thank you, have a good day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Or the bloke at the Temora Aviation Museum that Rod told us about H.
He stood in front of my truck and claimed 'They're having a lend of us! Blitzes didnt look like this, this looks nothing like a Blitz!' ![]() I wasnt there at the time, the truck was on display to the public. How do you convince someone when he's still trying to tell you the "facts" even when the evidence to the contrary is right in front him? ![]() Dont worry, Im not beating myself up - I think its hilarious

I haven't had a chance to drive my blitz for a couple of months so as it was a warm day today I drove it to Batlow for the monthly club meeting. I had a great day teaching fellow moterists to relax and have patience on the long stretches of double lines
