Talking First official outing

At Last !!
Sunday saw the Chev make its way to its first vintage rally, and it behaved OK with just a few adjustments needed before its next outing
While at the show I met a veteran who had driven a chevrolet C15 like mine over many thousands of miles of desert during and after WWII, it was a great pleasure to show him around the truck. In no time he was sat in the passenger seat so I took him for a quick spin much to his delight. I must say that meeting this veteran who had used the vehicle in anger was a real honour and privilage.
He has a large collection of photos of chevs and other WWII vehicles and has offered to allow them to be copied so keep an eye out in the future as I hope to open a new thread on this subject as I am sure you would like to see them too.

Ps Don,t forget to tighten your wheel nuts properly

Default its been a busy year !!

Hi All
Well things have been a tad busy so far this year didn't manage to get the Chev to France in June due to lack of funds but did manage to get there on My Norton WD 16H to be one of the 144 WD machines
Have manged to get to a number of local shows and have just notched up 300 miles on the C15 having just returned from the MVT show at Kemble .
No real problems so far except the vaccum advance does not seem to work I have a new one somewhere in the shed so must dig it out soon.
Having done some miles now I think I have worked out the MPG on the Chev as around 7 mpg is this about right for a 55 235 ci fitted to a C15 ?

Default Mpg

Hi Jeremy,
7 to the gallon sounds a bit thursty to me!. My C30, which is a wee bit heavier than yours, managed 14 mpg going down to Portsmouth a couple of months ago, and that's running a 216 ci. Short runs and she will average 10 mpg. Might be worth checking your jetting and carb.
Good to see you are on the road
Regards
Keith
