1941 Plymouth, a DS if I remember correctly.
They came in several flavors including Chev, Ford, DeSoto, Plymouth, IH and I believe Pontiac as well. Nice practical collectible!! Bill

Nice to see one again
That's a nice and less-than-usual Military Vehicle. It's great to see a restored utility, be it plymouth or whatever.
There used to be two or three similar complete utes on a farm near Mossvale where I lived as a teenager. I was always interested in them as a practical road vehicle, classic car and Military collectible all rolled into one. Only trouble was they were so EXTENSIVELY rusted that I was afraid to take one on. I have some pics somewhere and will try to post them but at the moment my scanner and computer are having a domestic dispute ! Cheers Phill Hastings

I think you are right. I was just too lazy to dig around the collection. Get that way on a nice Spring Sunday. I am jumping between here and the yard/garden. I rarely escape Pat for very long.

Distractions
I just made the mistake of opening up my uncollated photograph chest...
There must be well over a thousand military vehicle pics I have taken over the years but never sorted. I found about ten photo's I have been looking for - none of them are of the utlities I mentioned though... Must keep looking Cheers Phill

And a P11 it is. Where I got DS from I cannot tell you, must be oldtimers disease (I am 64 on the eighteenth.) Checked a few sources (Bart & Norm Weeding).
BTW, is Norm still about?? I corresponded with him from the mid-late 60's up till the late 80"s and lost touch. He had the AWM wired and we swopped bags of pics. Bill

Plymouth - yes
Hello all
Yes Richard , It was great , with around 35 ex miltary Dodges among many other MV's . Weather was perfect , sunny all the time . Spotted very few British makes , a Fwd control Landrover was one . Yes guys , it is a 1941 plymouth badged as a Dodge . Chrysler here re grilled the 41 Plymouth as Dodges and De Sotos . Special grilles were made in Nth America to fake up the Plymouth to look like a Dodge or De Soto . I owned 2 of them in the early 80's , but as Phill said , they are very prone to rust . They all had the Canadian 3 3/8" bore engine , different to the shorter US engine . The Dodges were D20 the De soto SP11 . They make a comfortable vehicle to rally in , nice at 50 mph . The pictured one drove down from QLD . Mike

This is Titus , a wandering Frenchman backpacking around Australia . He turned up at Corowa dressed in various outfits including Foriegn Legion, Sailor, Aussie WW2 digger . He collects uniforms avidly and had fun buying WW2 Australian equipment during his stay .
The vehicle is a Fargo 15 cwt ex military . The line up of Dodges was great with a rare WC 41 and even a T212 , 3/4 Ton Command cars , Ambos , 6X6's , M37's , 34 in all . Is this a record ? Mike Last edited by Mike K; 16-03-04 at 17:18.

Titus again , this time as a 1950's digger in the Malayan anti communist era outfit . He knowledge was amazing , he knew more than we did . He carried all his gear in a bag , hitch hiking around .
