Bruce,

If you are not with a group Port-en-Bessin is hard to beat. It is only tiny but there are some fantastic waterfront restaurants. It will take you about 5 minutes to drive or half an hour to walk to Etreham and I am sure there will be seats available in green machines for runs.

Default Trip

Thanks Lang,

Well i have my booking confirmed at the Ibis Bayeux Port En Bessin , my wife is a bit more exited about that than the Camping ground in Carentan i had previously arranged and will now cancel).
The village does look great and we are 5k from the Memorial museum, and we are right on Omaha Beach.
We will definately catch up with you guys over there for sure.
Thanks for your help Lang.

Bruce,

Here are some photos Bev took out of the Beech 18 I was flying in France last month. The weather was absolute crap and I was possibly below legal height but we got the view. Port-en-Bessin, the artificial harbour at Aramanches, Omaha Beach Memorial, USA War Cemetary Omaha and Mont St Michel (on our convoy schedule).

Much appreciated for that Lang, the place looks impressive and looking forward to attending.
The vintage craft looks good too, I will show that to my sister as she flys jets out of Luton airport.

Here is jim Sewell's C15A Radio Van sitting on its rims ready to go in a container from Perth to Istanbul. If you look back up this thread a couple of months back you should agree he has made wonderful progress.

Here is our completely revised route. If any Europeans are near our track, please come and have a beer.

... great, you can count me in

I guess the new route is much more spectacular than the old one. Do you have some time to make a lake cruise with a 100 year old big paddle steamer on Lake Lucerne?

Chris,

We well may have time to do that. I will see how the troops are going when we near Northern Italy. Looking forward to meeting you.
