Well, it is time for a quick update...first thanks to Dave Pope for posting pics of the storage boxes for the F and C15A. I am taking advantage of the information and am making four for my F15A.... ever wonder how many boxes are on a 15CWT? Attached are a couple of photos of my progress...they a breeze after building the spare tire carrier. I permanently mounted the cab on the truck and am waiting for the POR 15 gas tank sealer to dry...it recommends 96 hrs. Once they are dry I will hook-up the fuel lines and get rid of my one gal plastic fuel container. I am still on track for 14 Oct licensing and street legal...whoo hooo. All I will need is to attack the spare tire clam shells...I have been procrastinating on them. And of course wait for the canvas work that Stewart Loy is organizing.
cheers for now from Dark Windsor Ontario Mike Timoshyk |

Having just gone through the steps in getting my Jeep registered you may still be sent out to get some more paperwork. One may be an independant Tax appraisal. It comes on a green sheet and is only for getting tax money. it doesn't even go to the MTO. Any used car dealer should be able to wright out one of these. If you'er planning to have it drivable you will still need a mechanical safety done and looking at the photos you still have some work ahead with ligths. (I do wish my CMP looked the same way though)
From what I remember on turn signals is that any of the historical vehicles over 80" need them. Anything less in width don't. I guess it will depend on where you measure from. There was also something about having reflectors and two brake lights. In my opinion turn signals should be installed on these trucks especially because the driver is one the wrong side compared to modern drivers and they wont be looking for your hand signals there even if they do understand them. Check out the thread on my Jeep, they really made me go back and forth. http://www.class-five.com/~mlu/forum...ad.php?t=11633

Thanks for the info Jordan. Yes I know headlights are manditory and signals are a very good item for these beasties....
As for my experience at the MTO...a breeze...I brought a copy of Gregg's book Fighting Vehicles 1943-1945 as a reference in case they needed any extra info. I was in and out of the office in no less than 15 min with a set of plates and fully registered. Woo HOO! Damn easy. All that is left is to fix up the stuff I need for the safety and voila... cheers from Southern Ontario Mike Timoshyk |

A quick pic of a test run around the block....all the little glitches being sorted out and the wiring runs getting all cleaned up.
My deadline for Tuesday 14 Oct is do-able and I should be good to go. More pics later today... cheers Mike Timoshyk in somewhat foggy Windsor Ontario WOOOHOOO |

Congradulations my friend. It has been really interesting to watch the progress of your rebuild. I have lots of ideas for doing mine when I get to that point.
Now the fun really starts doing all the little minor things to really make the resto job stand out.

Well I went for my first trip out of the neighbourhood to a Show and Shine at the A&W. It was the last one of the summer. I managed to get a lot done in the last week. I made the 14 Oct deadline. Here are a couple of pics as she looks now. By no means is it complete but she certaily looks the part.
I want to take time to thank all those who contributed know-how, parts, advice and encouragement. From Australia to Europe to the US and way out in the sticks at the Hammond Barn, thank you all. A special thanks to Mark Tonner for helping me out these past few days with the unit and formation signage. To all you MLUers THANKS!!!! Mike Timoshyk in Sunny Windsor.... |
