Hi Justin - all we have to do now is correlate that number to a Hull Number and then I will have another one for my database along with a hyperlinked image, if I am allowed to use these images. Do you have any more?

Bob

Bob/Justin -

Would I be correct in saying that the number on the second pic would be a 'C' Number ?

I also note that the 'commander' in the second pic is wearing white armbands. Either 'Directing Staff' or an umpire on an exercise ? Justin, do you have any info ref units your Grandfather was in ?

Roddy

Default Grandad's Carrier #1824

Hi Justin - this Carrier was a Ford manufacture under contract MON.62. I have 18 recorded under this contract as existing including your #1902. So #1902 came out of the same batch as #1824. That's pretty close to Grandad.

Keefy - good work.

Hello Roddy,
in my limited knowledge of the numbers,i would say yes it would be a C number.
According to my Mums info this was Grandads initial training on carriers,
That would explain the fellow with the white armband,he was probably Grandads instructor.
after he went to Kokoda and was injured there he was shipped back to Australia, after he recovered enough he became an instructor with 2/3 Aust MG Battalion.
