Default The Great engine adventure

Well, after a good nights sleep I decided to hit the internet and see what I could come up with. I took a really good look at the schematics, on a Flat Head V8 site. For those who don't know about it, here is the link http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_home.htm
It is a great site, very useful.

I noticed on one of the scematics that there are sleeves and low and behold Mac's carry's them. So, there is hope

There are numbers on the Cylinder heads and I looked them up to see what they mean. the number is 81A-6049-A, from what I could find the 81A indicates a passenger Vehicle engine, 85hp from 1938. Was this number normally on carrier engines or is this my indication that I have a civilian engine?
