Our winters were too damned cold ,so I believe this picture shows the early shop made enclosure over the machine to protect the occupants from wind and cold..but still an armoured snowmobile....
This must have worked because later development of this enclosure ,which removed the armour and added a much larger cabin,that held 6-8 men and you could stand and walk around in ,which obviously you couldn't do in the one pictured,became know as the "Penquin"...Mark,ll,lll......
There was no Mark l Penquin...
The Mark 1 was the armoured snow mobile....
