You can order milspec black finish. The posts are available as threaded base or screw, be careful of the post/screw length. Original Canadian manufactured universal carrier seat backboard examples are observed with threaded posts.

Kevin, you can buy the LTD body with two lengths of legs (don't know the proper names) If your material is thick you will need the long legged ones.
The black ones look good, but the originals were nickel.
