Default Visit with the HUA

A day trip with Brian Gough to have a look at the HUA. Brian was able to locate the remains of the body data plate still affixed to vehicle and also point out other features that I was not aware of. A great day!
Cheers, Terry.

Looking for some help. My 1943 Chev HUA C8A (Heavy Utility Ambulance) is still a continuing project and wondering what the make/model of the heater was for the backend of the vehicle. My understanding is that is was gas/petrol fueled, located along the left side of the vehicle looking forward through the cab and just behind the left side second door. From the attached pic and others that I've seen, it appears the heater was vented out near the top of the body, just behind the second door as indicated by the yellow circle. Any pics and info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I realize this does not help with your specific question. But here are two wartime pictures showing your vent.
