Not to go against what has already been said but the large headlight is M37 as Rob has said but it was also found on some Canadian Ferrets at times.

Hi John,
The gasket with out a label looks very similar to a MB/GPW L head motor gasket. There are a few slight differences, but very close. If you google mb/gpw head gaske you'll see. I'm sure a jeep shouldn't be too hard to find over there to compare to!

John, the second photo looks to have 6 diodes???, so my guess is a bridge rectifier??? (converts AC to DC) Just a guess.

I agree with Ian's observations on the label less head gasket. It I recall, that particular engine also served as a stationary power plant for a lot of wartime and post war equipment, so may have an application with some of that equipment.
