Default Tipper

Therein lies the problem... he has a rusty tipper body (not sure about the hoist) and a different F60S which was not a tipper. He had an ARN from the F60S, 57006 which was also marked "AIF L". I happened to have photographed that page from the AWM 126 series of ledgers and it was listed as a "truck, KTN", and disposed of back to FMC.

So if he has the steel body it won't be the first type, and I think the 4th type was on a Chevrolet chassis.

He's got a more interesting truck, though, a Kitchen! A GS base body decked out with cooking kit.

All steel tipper body was the No.4. I'll check the hoist type and get back to you....

Default Kitchen

Yes I thought that was what it stood for. Interesting how the F60S (and indeed C60S) were mostly used in specialist roles here.

It would be a challenging task to find a body to suit I'd think.

Keith,

His other 'problem' is the wheels: if he intends to build a tipper, the all-steel bodied No.4 had 8.25x20 all round, duals at rear, so he'd have to find a set of wheels and spacers as well: might be easier to locate/build an all-steel GS body! The wheels were Australian manufacture and quite specific to the vehicle type.

But a Kitchen ..... now that would be unique!

Keith,

The tipper hoists were:
Ford Nos 1 & 2: fitted with Olding or Malcolm Moore hoists.
Ford No.3 (also a steel bodied tipper) fitted with G-Well hoist,
Chev No.4 fitted with Trojan hoist.

Each one had a unique chassis mounting and cab control set-up.

So I suppose he's looking for a G-Well hoist to go with his all-steel tipper body on a Ford chassis.....

but I still like the idea of a Kitchen better!!

Default Kitchen or tipper

I like the idea of that too... but will pass on the details to him.

Thanks for the research!

Default my C60S tipper

My Chev C60S 2 1/2 CU YDS Tipper No#4 has a GMH "Commercial Body'' mounted to it, not sure about the hoist within the chassis.
It was made in 4-4-45 Aust M (Melbourne?)
It has 20" split rims on the rear and the offset rims on the front with spacers, the previous owner also produced a few spare 20"rims when I bought it.
