Thanks Rob, I assume that CDN3 mods would also be applied to CDN2's?

Shouldn't, it would more likely be something that is particular to the Cdn3. But without seeing the modification instruction I can't say.

Surely I am not the only guy in Canada that grabbed a set of these on disposal.

Default C-30-103-000/cf 004

Good evening, according to the instructions this modification was for the "radiator damage by bellcrank" and applied to the CDN 2 only. It says, "when completed it will provide additional clearance between the radiator and steering bellcrank assembly." hope this helps. Cheers. Steve

Well that throws out my theory that the 30103 was the Cdn 3 jeeps. Son of a gun, just 25 years after they leave service and the memory is starting to fade already.

Steve, are all the 30103 series for Cdn2 only? Are there any 30104s? I know the 30105s are for the M151A2s and I think the 30106 was the CJ7s.

Default C-30-102/103-000 Series

Rob,

Not at all, for the most part, you are spot on. There just seems to those odd one or two tech orders that go against the norm.

It looks as though the C-30-100-000 series is for both the M38CDN and the M38CDN. Later on they seem to expand to cover all types. The C-30-101-000 series seems to cover the special vehicles such as the welding conversion unit and C-30-102-000 seems, for the most part, to be for both CDN2 and CDN 3 with orders for the headlight guards, spare wheel mounting reinforcement, etc. However, there are one or two of them that just pertain to the CDN 2. From what I can think of they were longer-term defects that required modification. There is a tech order in the C-30-104-000 series that covers the door handle modification but it only makes reference to the
CDN3.

I absolutely agree that all M151A2's used the C-30-105-000 series and, unfortunately, I don't have any visibility of the CJ7 but it sounds right that they would be the C-30-106-000 series.

But the real question is "why couldn't I ever get my doors to close properly!"

Oh well. Fun stuff. Hope this helps.

Steve
