I mailed them this morning and i have almost completed the paint job on my M151.
One question: did the CAF ever used the rigid enclosure on these cars?

From what i've read on the US Forums, the Hardtop makes the M151A2 much more top heavy (rollover potential) and painfully loud. Post up some pics of your paint work. |

thank you for the reply, for the true some years ago i already installed the alluminium enclosure (in a detachable way) and i have to say that is not that heavy, the whole stuff with the doors is not much heavier than the ROPS set. I make personally the change in spring and autumn, true anyway the care to be used in the steep turns (also with the ROPS), a price to pay for the winter comfort ![]() Here are some pics, i found one more stencil painted 74-22375 behind the civil registration label. I also made some color matching test with a Federal Standard Color FS595A. I hope that this will be helpful for reference in re-creating the colors. Please look at the numbers and not at the colors in the pics, the light changed them pretty much. It seems that my M151 was painted as base color with the 34258, it shows up in the clutch and brake pedals, on the bumpers where the 74-22375 was painted, on the seat belts attachments and almost everywhere i had to sand deep, also the wooden box which was placed as bench seat in the back of the car shows the same color (i will post the box pic as son as possible). it looks really like the British Challenger tank faded green color.

I never touched the paint of the rear bumpers and of the antenna mast, it shows the 34159.
Remember that it is a faded color. The "CANADIAN ARMED FORCES" on the hood, has been painted in 24525, in some areas close to this the old paint shows a kind of olive color that i am still investigating (it has been almost always tape covered during painting).

About the color scheme i tried to follow the official truck utility 1/4 ton
and i am still work in progress. I found some pics where the colors where displaced: in a CDN museum (can anyone tell me where is this museum?) operations in Valcartier and some pre restoring. The curious thing is that on my car there was some black in more or less the same areas. Is it a matter of not always followed official scheme or the existence of different schemes?

The last photo, I took of the Black Watch of Canada when we were in Valcartier.
This was the units M151, which i was driving. It was left outside so the paint faded. We had no interior vehicle storage. This photo should only be on Clive Law's Ram Tank CFR Data page and not on any museum page, unless the Black Watch Museum has finally used some of my photos on their web page. Thanks Eric
