I had to go out and look at it again, because I didn't think there was a patch there, but there certainly could be. What you probably saw was a straight crack in the paint at the top, and a faint line along the left-hand side. I didn't think there was a patch because it's completely flush with the rest of the sheet metal on 3 sides. So thanks, because I have now learned something new myself. (I've only had my truck for about 6 months and have spent most of my work time at the other end, so far.) cheers, Mike

We both learnt something. I have had mine since 1987, but it was patched.

If memory serves, the Cdn2 had the large patch welded over the original large hole. It also had the bracket inside the back to hold an M-series tail lamp. A Cdn3 did not have either. The body did not have the large hole cut into it, nor the bracket welded onto the inner skin.
