Hi David,

To add a few more identities,

pic no. 136, to the right of the Autocar is a Ashok Leyland with bus body. These were built in India.

pic no. 187
on the left is a early Sixties Bedford CA, complete with AA badge on the grille, possibly left behind by overland travellers from the UK?

pic no 059
Swiss Saurer

pic no 108
Kraz 225B ....Russian military 6x6 trucks

pic no 84
wartime International M426 5 ton tractor unit

Default Thanks

What do you make of the others in 187 next to the CA? Is that a Dodge then an odd-lookiong forward control, then a 1941-6 Chevy?

Hi David,

Next to the CA is a Dodge, now going by its bonnet, bumper and wheels, it would appear to be a 1/2 ton 4x4 model, perhaps a T207-WC3 weapons carrier or one of the similar models. It was only made until 1942, when superceded by the 3/4 ton models. The white vehicle could be based on a Hino, going by the badge on the front, then the Chev, a standard early 1940's truck I would guess. Problem with the Far East countries, is that they often use cabs and bonnets on other chassis, they could be a real mix n' match.

regards, Richard

Default Burma Dodge #86

The photo 86 is a Burma Dodge, one of the 14 or 15000 build for the Chinese government. The front clip is original but not the cab and it is missing its bed. The frame and axles appear original but the engines are frequently replaced. T-234 is Dodge's number for this truck.
