The engine was a runner, but once warmed up it would start to misfire badly. After checking every single option in the ignition system, points, plugs, condensor and coil, i pulled the shielded ignition leads apart, two of the copper cored leads, where they push onto the brass spikes in the distributor cap had "blown" apart leaving a 1/4" gap to jump which it was doing until it warmed up! i replaced all of the leads with modern copper core lead.

There was quite a few widget bits missing from the cable shielding, fortunately i have a good few spares from a 1 ton truck, which went into it.

I have now narrowed the brake problem down, it is the brake servo, its not backing off and seems to stick in place, if the vacuum pipe which provides the assistance is removed, the brakes never lock up, but then you barely have any braking at all!

I now have a couple of servos and some seals so i can rebuild a good one ready for the next season.

Malcolm, did the pig only ever have one fuel tank, just there is no hole on the passenger side for a fuel filler, long since replaced with a new piece of chequer plate?

Forgot to ask, what happened to the Albion CX22, i remember seeing it advertised years ago up here, it looked quite original.
