Thanks Ian,
Thats been a great help. Hmmmm some of the names over there seem very familiar.... There was some discussion the other day as to whether the Champs had been designed to use this system, obviously not as they pre-date it. Rich

Footage of a Landy with trailer using a Miller Bridge.
You do have to go to the trouble of getting a login to access the old movitone footage, but it is a very good resource, although you may need to be imaginative in your search perameters. Fun way to spend a hot day in front of the A/C http://www.movietone.com/N_index.cfm?region=4 Card Title: RIDING THE HIGH WIRE Location: UK Date: 18/05/1961 Length: 32 secs Story Number: 82520

I know I have seen pictures of it being used at Chilliwack in BC. I even remember seeing one set up on the base across either the Vedder River or another local one when I was just a Boy scout getting a tour of the base back in the late 60's.
CFB Chilliwack was for engineers. I'll ask around. |

Some good footage on the Miller (Millar?) Cable Bridge, including the setting up of cable and Land Rover hub adaptors, before seeing the Landy drive itself across.
No Sound, but self explanatory. It would seem the Officer in the shiny shoes is Miller himself. http://www.itnsource.com/en/shotlist.../BGY504050343/ Rich.
