Ausy Armour

It is not a Rhino which was a true armoured car with a turret but I think it is a CMP truck chassis with an armoured body similar to the White half track Body (open rear). They were made here in Oz for the US. I have other photos of them somewhere and not many were made but one survives in a museum in North Queensland.

Yes, they were 16" built on Ford chassis, the one pictured was the only F15A version, the others were built on F15 chassis, so these were conventional front engine vehicles. They have the familiar Ford engine cover inside too.

The other Ford CMP based Aussie armoured car was the less than successful Rover, built on both the 134 1/4" and 158 1/4" chassis, then there was the and the Ford Dingo scout car which was not a CMP but used MH transfer case and axle on an interesting cut and dropped chassis layout.
