i'm restoring my 12 cab c15a as a wrecker. mine will have a late 30's weaver crane on the back. i have discussed this topic at length with a recovery expert among us. although, to my knowledge there was never a factory built 15cwt wrecker, there were probably some made up as field mods, or locally built, when the need arose.

Thank you Grant and Mike. It's in pretty poor shape and is missing all it's ID tags. Apart from a Holden body tag under the bonnet.

Most definitely! There was no CMP 15-cwt Wrecker that rolled off the production lines during WW2.
The stampings on crane are most likely from the steel beam manufacturer in Scotland, not of the crane manufacturer. Hope this helps, H.

I agree...no C or F 15 wreckers.. All as Grant says on 3 ton Chassis only..starting at the F and C-60S...The shocks, springs and frames were too light ,even on the F and C 30 models..although you will find F and C 30 Wreckers ,but with upgraded springs and suspensions to C and F 60 specs..
