Sometime back someone was discussing using C8BA rods and bearings on an earlier V8.
This is ok if you are using a C8BA or C49A crankshaft with two oil holes per journal. If your crankshaft has only a single oil hole in the centre of the crank pin the oil will leak between the two rods. In Australia, we see a few engines with C41A/C49A crankshafts and locked in bearings. The crankshaft size is the same as the C8BA, but the bore in the big end of the rod is larger.
