Default Ford Water Pump Pulley

Hi all,
You may recall a few weeks ago I let you all know of a chap selling Ford V8 Water Pump kits. I bought two and installed them. Here's my advice. If possible re-use the original bronze bushes. I installed both kits and started it up and almost imediately the brass bush picked up and began to smloke. An old mechanic told be, never use the brass bushes as bronze is better because it is self lubricating?
Then, the engine was running beautifullywhen one of the pulleys decided to fly off. We took the pump off and re-pressed it back on with Locktite. Next day, before I re-installed it, I put the impellor in a vice and tried to turn by hand. Yep, I was able to turn it.The Locktite didnt really work. I can only assume the gap was too large for Locktite to work.
Question. Has anyone got any remedies for loose pulleys, or does anyone have a couple lying around that I could buy? Single belt type.
I look forward to help.
Cheers
Darren
