Station Wagon C11ADF
My friend has a C11ADF "Woody". It appears to have a saloon car chassis (Circa 1941) and it doesn't appear robust enough for the weight and power. Can anyone enlighten me as to what chassis is correct and were they common to any other WD used vehicles?

To my knowledge they were a standard Civilian car with a few extras like special wheels/ tyres etc added to adapt the vehicle for military use. As such the chassis would have been the standard car chassis of the day.

Here's two pages from Canada's Fighting Vehicles. The 5 passenger one had 9.00 x 13 tires and heavier axles but otherwise they were just Ford Woodies.

These were assembled at Dagenham for the Ministry of Supply: C11AD “8-PASSENGER DELUXE STATION WAGON” 5-PASSENGER STATION WAGON 9.00 X 13 WOOD, SEDAN TYPE WITH HEAVIER AXLES THAN C11AS AND LUGGAGE SPACE C11AS “8-PASSENGER SUPER DELUXE STATION WAGON” 7-PASSENGER STATION WAGON WITH ROOF RACK 6.00 X 16 WOOD, SEDAN TYPE
Not mentioned was: C11ADF HEAVY UTILITY [4-DOOR STATION WAGON] Note not designated as EC11 etc!
