Station Wagon C11ADF
My friend has a C11ADF "Woody". It appears to have a saloon car chassis (Circa 1941) and it doesn't appear robust enough for the weight and power. Can anyone enlighten me as to what chassis is correct and were they common to any other WD used vehicles?
|
To my knowledge they were a standard Civilian car with a few extras like special wheels/ tyres etc added to adapt the vehicle for military use. As such the chassis would have been the standard car chassis of the day. :)

Here's two pages from Canada's Fighting Vehicles. The 5 passenger one had 9.00 x 13 tires and heavier axles but otherwise they were just Ford Woodies.

Dash wiring harness for C11ADF
For anyone who is interested I have a NOS wiring harness for the C11ADF .
|
Worth a lot of $$$$$
If the selling price is $71K then the harness....NOS... never had electricity flow through the wires..... must be worth at least $1500.
Better rent a safety deposit box at the bank David..... Bob |
Bob
Considering the standard, and the rarity, it is probably a resonable price.

Wiring Harness
Hey Bob - the wiring is not gold - or even silver! I guess I'd better lock my workshop now!
Seriously, $50 plus shipping gets it. Thats real (Canadian) dollars though not those fake US ones. |

'course, if you're crowing about the current and temporary devaluation of the U.S. Dollar, well, it's only fitting that the Loony is presently higher than the U.S. buck since the Canadian government leaves so little of it in your hands. P.S., What's the HST up to these days? :yappy: |
We're suffrin'
Not to mention gas at $5.40 a gallon here now!

Were these the inspiration for the Ford Station Wagons in the Desert

Hi All
This was just posted on Hagerty Insurance Newsletter. Were these the inspiration for the Wagons in the Desert? Balloon tires and away you go, wonder what other modifications? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08zf-...s%2005-29-2013 Most of it is talking about the 1948 version but they started the Dunesmobile in 1934-1935. Otherwise just and interesting search for a particular vehicle. Cheers Phil |
