Sometime early in WW2 , a shot down German ME 109 fighter aircraft was shipped out to Victoria. It toured around the rural cities and towns, raising money for war bonds or similar. I know it was in Sale in East Gippsland , on display at a garage .
Does anyone have any more info ? Is it the example that ended up at the AWM ? Mike

The Me109 was displayed at Preseneys, the ford dealership in Sale for a while.
The family still has the injector pump from it and another collector I know say's he has some bits from it. It also toured around with V2 rocket. the photo is the V2 in yarram edit this photo of the bomb came from roland on the Hcvc forum. Last edited by Luke R; 12-03-12 at 12:53. |
