Default Kittens

This may sound ridiculous, but this afternoon Sally and I went to a garage sale - bought quite a few things for a great price (unfortunately none of them military, but that's the way it goes) - and stumbled across a bin full of kittens taken in by the garage sale people. These are mixed gray male and female tabbys, fluffy with blue kitten-eyes, and seem to be healthy... the bottom line is that we have reserved two for our increasingly cat-dominated household (Gizmo needs playmates ) but there are three left. If anyone in the GTA wants what is now a six-week old kitten - three will be available in a couple of weeks, at age 8 - please contact me ASAP. I will act as the go-between. They are cute as buttons!

Jif

PS: These are to be given as pets, not food, fodder or moving targets...

Bob! (Maybe) free kittens! They are in TO, and if you want, you can bring the trailer!

My work here is done...

I'm sure these wee puffballs would be much happier riding in Bob's lap rather than in the trailer, Rob...

Geoff, No doubt that the kittens would find this more to their liking. But our Bob is prone to distraction. So if he is driving, I recommend at least two ratcheting tie-downs per kitten. The users of the 401 would be deeply appreciative...or he could just let Joyce drive...

Rob,

I'm sure Bob doesn't want to be reminded of the perils of creeping old age, so we shan't... but perhaps Joyce would be a viable alternative for a driver. Of course, if she did drive all the way here and back, that would probably mean Bob would have to ride in the trailer anyway (for her sanity), so therefore we're back to Square One again, aren't we...

Time Jif got another CMP to return him to complete sanity.

C'mon Jif, we Aussies and Kiwis (with a few Northern Hemisphere exceptions) can't always be the ones discovering and rescuing CMPs all the time can we?

Good gawd... right now I have nowhere to work on one even if I had it! If I'd had the money, I'd have bought Skagfeld's in a flash (and apropos of nothing whatsoever, mebbe border-raided Churcher's yard for a certain C15TA to-boot... ), but the fact remains, YOU upside-down chaps have most of our good stuff, so piss-off!! I'll settle for collecting kittehs for now...

PS: When these two arrive, it'll make five in our Toronto paradise, so there!

Hanno - Yes, ok, I'm a suck for baby fluffies. Get over it!

PPS: Please note we haven't yet heard from M. Boobee yet... methinks there's some significance in that...

Oh dear. Perhaps you'd better take a look at this, Jif - I think your mind is in danger.

You can't find any cats in Haiti - but that's 'cause they taste better then dogs.

You see, there's an ongoing arms race here between cats and their natural prey, ground Squirrels. Currently, the Squirrels are winning as Dogs have upped the ante somewhat by providing the squirrels with Bazookas. Cats, always ready to change their tactics, and not wanting to be far from their dish of cream have reverted to sniping from cover. Expect further sitreps. Derek.

Default Wonderful.......

Great little kittens Geoff...... enjoy.

Amazing that a bunch of red neck grease balls..... albeit grown men ...can admit to loving them little things......

They do bring a lot of joy and entertainment..... tax free.

This thread on Kittens is inspired by Kittens, which in turn inspired me to do my first post with this vid:

Default Bloody Hell....

Well, the good news is that our Kitteh Kollective is doing well, having doubled in size in the last month and being permanently up to NO GOOD. In addition, our one year-old black kitteh fuzzball adopted the new ones as her own and has been on their case ever since. It's fun.

The BAD news is that Sally showed up this afternoon with an aquarium full of... wait for it... crickets. Yes, CRICKETS. Those highly annoying chirpy bugs that like to jump and make loud noises whenever you're trying to sleep. Cat toys, she said. Except that the cats aren't allowed to eat them (damn...). Instead, the crickets are currently resident - complete with food and water (what the HELL do you feed crickets anyway??) - in our sunroom. And the aquarium is covered in cats.

This will be interesting.

Just leave the lid off, pretend Sally forgot or something, the results should be hilarious.

I saw that Keefy!

As to the aquarium being "full" ... it has 5 crickets in it. I got it off the curb from two houses down, their gecko had died.
Crickets are omnivores... a movie in the making ...." Attack of the Chirpers" .... and they sang as they ate. Geoff should sleep with one eye open now

Doesn't he always sleep that way?

I like the fact it has been gleaned - perhaps their cat got the gecko?
