Ford/chev brought back home

Hi, i am new to this forum, here is a project i brought back home...i have a modest goal to fix whats on it for now, not realy a restoration.

I have few questions...where was the battery located on this ?
Also was there any vin/numbers to indentify them ?
There is only a "S" on the left door.
