Sure this has been discussed on here before.
I am interested but too far away for a viewing.
I am after a few favours from friends "Down Under"

1) Is this a genuine advert or scam?

2) Has anyone any further info on it, still for sale, etc?

3) Do we have a member in the area if it is still there (or there at all!!) who could verify it for me (I can pay expenses and beer, only stubbies, no scooners your driving!!)

4) Anyone recommend a local shipping agent if the deal did go thru who can deliver over the pond??

Any further info greatly appreciated.

Has had a lower hull plate from another carrier stuck on the side as top armour... So you will need to replace that, and rip the dash out of it too.... Otherwise looks good. It is English (or I should say I believe it is) as the engine mount rails are right angle rather than the curved bent type ala Canadian design.

Has had some mods done during a resto at some point but its all fixable with time and cash. Ps I have a repro side armour plate that would fit that side of the carrier.

Appears to have Aussie front idlers fitted.

I can also help you out with front and rear fenders... Rear armour drawings and a template for all the holes to be drilled on the rear plate.

If you want it, secure it with deposit, no offence but now that you have put this in the public domain some unscrupulous types will swoop in and swipe the carrier from under you... There is little honour amongst people who want something badly enough.

My main concern is if its still for sale, or ever was (scam?)
Time I have and resorces, cash is as and when, just dont have a carrier!!!

Wait to see if get a reply or a local Mapleleafup "Agent" to investigate!

It certainly looks to be based on a British carrier. Lots wrong that would need sorting to get it back to MK1 spec but some nice bits too.

I understand that part of its "problem" is its quite a long way from any main transfer points for shipping, getting carriers loaded onto a truck or into a container and moved to port can get expensive quite quickly, you then have to pay to get it home. Once you get it here you have to pay customs and get it home. I can help a little from my experience with the Scout if needed.

I can't comment on the advert itself or its its real.

Hi Paul, I can verify the add was and is genuine. I spoke to the owner who is an elderly chap and they did have on their farm for many years. I think it's way over priced for what is left. Transport would also be a very costly exercise from its present location. Not much on the inside is original. I guess it would still be a good starting platform at the "right" price. As far as I know it is still for sale.
