Default Excellent book

I recently finished and highly recommend the book:

BATTLE BRIDGES Combat river crossings WWII by John B. Wong. (ISBN 1-4120-2067-0

John's grandfather was a member of the 238th Engineer Combat Battalion which was one of the first Engineer battalions to land at Normandy and built the first ponton bridge over the Douve. From there the 238th built, and fought their way through France, Belgium, and Germany building every type of bridge from steel treadway floating bridges, Bailey, Steel Girder, to timber trestle, just to name a few. Often, the battalion accomplished these feats while under heavy enemy fire and suffered many casualities. A great read, not just for fans of military Engineering but for anyone who enjoys tales of the war. Derek.
