Default 40 mm Bofors AA guns used by the Germans

Suddenly I realized that I have so far not read one single word of Bofors 40 mm AA guns used by the axis powers.

In 1938 Germany through "Anschluss" laid hands of a number of Austrian Bofors guns made by Böhler. The Germans found these odd in their inventory and sold them to Sweden.

In 1939 Germany captured many Bofors guns in Poland and sold a number of these to Sweden.

Sweden also bought Bofors guns from Hungary (Mavag).

But what happened with the Bofors guns German forces took in Belgium, Denmark, France, Netherlands and Norway? Were they distributed to Germanys allies?

Looking through a 700 page history of German FLAK (Koch, 1965) there is not one single 40 mm AA gun - only 37 mm German standard types.

The Japanese captured large quantities of 40 mm Bofors guns a o in Singapore and Netherlands East Indies. How were these used?

Stellan
